Marine Corp Ball

Last night was the Marine Corp Ball to celebrate The Marine Corp's 234th Birthday. I always love getting dressed up and going out with Brian in his dress blues(once a year)...he looks so handsome. This year it was at the Marriot in Downtown Salt Lake. We really enjoyed ourselves and the fact that we were able hang out with adults and NO kids for a change. No kids thanks to our absolutely wonderful neighbors who kept them both overnight...thanks Andy and Kirstie.

Basketball

Today Olivia played her first basketball game of the season. She did an excellent job but they still got their butts kicked. Final score......36-4. I do need to mention that Liv did make 3 baskets but one was in the others teams basket(oops) and one didn't count! The first game is always interesting to watch. The other team did so well because they were great at stealing our ball and there was one girl who just rocked.

Trick-or-Treat

Trick or treating was all it's cracked up to be this year. Olivia was sick on Friday and most of Saturday and Gavin starting getting sick Saturday night also. So Trick or Treating consisted of going to a whole 3 houses. I felt bad for Liv but after 3 houses she said she was too cold and wanted to go back home. Poor babies...hopefully next year will be better.

Happy Halloween

I'm not too into dressing up for Halloween but all the wonderful people at work decided we should. Well, they were all dressing up as Witches and my schedule was jammed packed with patients so I didn't think running around in a dress would be very practical. So, call me a party pooper but I did participate....some! All the ladies at work looked great though. Some of the nicest witches I know.

Brians birthday was on October 17th and our wonderful friends/neighbors Rami and Will took us out to eat.

As you can tell Gavin was really excited to be celebrating his daddy's birthday.

Fall

I always see the cutest pictures of little babies but don't want to spend any money on "Professional Pic's" because Gavin isn't very cooperative when it comes to taking pictures. So I attempted to take some pictures of him yesterday. I guess it came out ok...if you don't look at the "gangster sign" he is doing and him sticking his tongue out at me. I guess we all now what he is thinking.

2 months and counting

So, Gavin is 2 months and 2 weeks old today. It is amazing how fast time flies by. He is starting to lose his new baby looks and is getting some meat on his bones. The colic is gone and he is now a very happy baby (most of the time)! He is talking more and more everyday. Last night he slept from 7:30 to 4, ate and then I finally woke him up at 7:30. Can I tell you how great this is???!!!! I don't think Olivia slept through the night until she was like 2! We are enjoying him so much. I don't know how you couldn't....just look at him!

I have to say when we found out we were having a boy, I was sad there wouldn't be any cute clothes, bow's or dresses. But, I am getting used to the little boy clothes. He is finally getting big enough to wear some of his cute "big boy" clothes.

So, needless to say I am not very good at updating this blog. Gavin arrived on July 29, 2009 at 9:18 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. He is a healthy, beautiful little guy. We couldn't be any happier to finally have him here with us.

My "Baby"

Olivia left for Summer Vacation and I had to get a picture of my "baby". Soon after she comes home, I will no longer be able to call her my baby. We will have a new baby...not that she's getting replaced...just moving up in the world. She's gonna be a big sister and wonderful helper. I also needed to get a picture because I'm sure she will grow a ton in the 5 weeks she will be gone. I miss her tons already.

Gavin Reese Grado

I "think" we have finally agreed on a name....Gavin! Gavin was Brian's idea and I think it sounds really nice. Gavin Grado has a nice ring to it. I have decided his middle name is Reese...Brian picked the first name, so I get the middle! We will see what he has to say about it. My sister refuses to call him Gavin. She says it reminds her of a fat, pale kid with rosy cheeks. Hopefully with Brian's genes he will be far from pale and I hope I don't have a fat little kid (we will still love him even if he is fat and rosy :-). She thinks I should name him Oliver! Don't think so...Oliver and Olivia...nah! Sorry Mindy, we still love you! Hope everyone else likes it! If not..................too dang bad!!!!

Gavin's Room

Well, I think we are all ready for our Lil Man. My mom ordered his crib for him and it looks great. We can't wait for him to get here so he can use it.

Baby "Stuff"

We are so blessed to have had a friend who had a baby boy last September. She has given us a ton of his stuff...blankets, clothes, car seat, swing, bouncy seat and much more. We have had fun buying new things for him and still need to get quite a few more things. It is absolutely amazing how much a baby needs. But as you see I don't really think he needs anymore clothes!! Thanks goodness we aren't having a girl, we would really be in trouble.

Baby Bedding

I wasn't able to find bedding that I really liked or matched.....so, I made it!! It has really turned out cute. I still need to find a mobile that matches or heck..make one! I guess we will see. Just waiting on Grammy to get the crib. It is going to look great.

21 weeks

19 week ultrasound

Our 19 week ultrasound went great. The baby is measuring right on target and all of his body systems are as they should be. He weighs 11 ounces and his heartbeat was in the 140's. We were able to see some of his personality. In one picture he is doing the L-loser sign with his left hand and sucking his thumb in another....way too cute!!
