Why men are dads.......and not MOMS!

I was downstairs doing clothes this afternoon and my wonderful husband was watching Gavin......well that is what he was supposed to be doing. First I hear "No, don't do that" and then Brian acting like Gavin keeps saying over and over again "Mom, I'm having fun!" I don't really think twice, as Brian is usually pretty good at being a responsible father. Then I come upstairs and see what they have actually been doing. Brian is sitting on the bed watching and Gavin is literally eating the paper. He thought it was fun until I starting cleaning it up and then became extremely unhappy. Did you see that, until I starting cleaning it. They both disappeared for the next 30 minutes.

I can't help but looking at these and laughing now.......but boy was it a lot of work to clean up.

Little Girls

I have a couple of friends having little girls and wanted to make something cute for the new little bebies. I made some really cute onesies with fabric/ribbon flowers. I just love little girls!!!!

Family Fun!

Today we went to Thanksgiving Point with the kids to see all the animals. Gavin is getting to the age where he is enjoying doing and seeing new things. We got to feed the animals and he just loved the baby goats.

This cow was so funny. I was feeding him and he and this Alpaca were fighting for the food. My hand was covered in cow slobber (which was extremely gross) but the kids had fun watching.

After Thanksgiving Point we went to the park and Gavin went down the slides all by himself. He had so much fun.

Fourth Grade

Olivia is now in 4th grade and I think the reality of what school really is has finally "hit home." She is totally overwhelmed by the amount of work she is required to do and the quality of work. She didn't have homework one day of 3rd grade and now she has at least 1-2 hours four days a week. Poor baby......she better get used to it....that's what we told her. I am really proud of her though, she is working so hard.
1st day of school. She thinks she is so cool. We had her eyes checked a couple of weeks ago and apparently she can't see! Thank goodness she likes glasses. However, as of today, she has had glasses for maybe 3 weeks and they are already broken!!!!!!!!!

Time Flies!

Wow, I can't believe I haven't done a post since March. Just goes to show you that there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done. I think, just maybe, life is starting to calm down enough to start blogging again. However, I've never been that great at keeping up with it, even when I did have time. So.....goal for the week is to post some updates and to do atleast one a week.

More to come................I promise!

HeLp

So the time has come to buy safety gates. Gavin is just getting to fast and sneaky! We went and bought a combo pack at Babies R Us and had to put one in front of the stairs and by the bathroom to keep him out of the toilet.

New Toy

Grandma Helen and Grandpa Fred wanted to get Gavin a new riding toy since the weather is getting nice. So we went to Toys R Us and found this great little bike. It transitions from this cute little push bike with a sun shade to a tricycle. So no more bending down, killing our legs and back to push him around. And what's better than that???? Olivia loves to take him out and push him around. It is so dang nice to have big helper .
Trying it out for the first time.

Little Dare Devil

Gavin is so different than Olivia. He isn't scared of anything....well except the big dog that runs around our neighborhood! I walked out of the bathroom for two seconds the other day and this is what I come back to. He was so proud of himself. I guess the days of cleaning the room, running out for a second while he plays in the bath are over.

Knot head

Daycare called me today at work....for the second time to inform me that Gavin had fallen and had one heck of a knot & bruise on his head. They didn't want me to freak out when I saw him. I kind of laughed and said all the yellow was finally starting to fade...oh well. Needless to say it looks pretty bad and now it looks like he is going to also have a black eye. OH and he has pictures tomorrow! But on a brighter note the weather was nice today and he was able to play outside for a little while.

The joy of cooking

I was making cupcakes yesterday and of course Gavin wanted to be right there helping. So I gave him a plastic bowl and a spoon and he had a great time playing.....for a few minutes.

Standing Tall

Gavin is not only crawling and pulling up but he is now standing without really holding on to anything. For being 7 1/2 months old, he sure is a busy little guy.

Shabby Chic

I started redoing Olivia's room recently and it is finally starting to come together. I down sized her queen size bed to a full, bought a really cute dresser off of KSL and switched things around some. We need to add a few more things but we really like it!

just plain ROTTEN :-(

So, Brian comes to me the other night and tells me to smell his shirt...a shirt that was in his bag he carries to work everyday. I smell it and it smells really bad. He tells me I must have not dried it all the way and it has a moldy smell. I don't say anything but think to myself "yeah, sure!" A few minutes later he returns and this is what he is holding.......
Now....I must have done what???? Who knows how long that banana was in his bag. Now I get the pleasure of washing the bag :)

Spring please come soon

So we either have another ear infection or the last one didn't clear up a few weeks ago. We went to the doctor first thing this morning because mom and dad are running on fumes today and Gavin seems to be happily delirious. I don't know how we handled a newborn! So anyways, another round of antibiotics. Spring where are you? I am ready to have snot free, happy baby!

OoPsY DaIsY

Gavin has a new riding toy that he just loves to ride around the house on....by riding I mean being pushed. It is quite the work out for me but boy does he love it. He hasn't quite figured out how to stay on after we stop though. It is so dang cute. He is really starting to be a lot of fun to play with.
(Excuse the missing pants)

**He looks really cross eyed in the pics...poor guy

Bedroom Bliss

So Brian and I ordered new bedroom furniture a few weeks ago and it is finally here. I really do love it but now I feel like I need MORE new stuff to make it complete. The bedding totally clashes with the wood and we need some wall decor.
